Happy Rainy October Day – no matter – still my favorite month. Kicked off to a blazing start with the release of my new book, Yoga for Warriors, and the launch of this site. Pretty cool day. Just learning how to put stuff up on the site so if this looks a little frizzed, be patient. Just spending every moment appreciating every moment – OMG I love October. When I was a little girl I used to wrap myself in diaphanous robes and such, with maple leaves stuck in my hair, pretending I was the goddess of October. Some things never change.
Need a nap – Spent yesterday afternoon paddle boarding (my new board!!) on Prospect Lake with my buddy Jill – we paddled around and soaked up the sun – gorgeous day and lots of autumn colors. Then this morning I had a fabulous swim workout with my Master’s Swim Group – the Pacemakers. Swam about 1100 meters total – Not amazing but not bad. Lots of seriously amazing swimmers though, it the group. We swam mostly 50’s today, with drills and fins. Whew. Love my lane – great guys.
Then home to make collard green soup with carrots and celery and garlic and tomatoes and Italian herbs and orzo (except don’t have any orzo yet) and chocolate pudding with coconut milk and cacao from Peru. I mean, how lucky am I. Nellie, my husky, sleeping on her favorite chair and as soon as I’m done with this, I’m heading for the couch for a nap. Enjoy your weekend and don’t forget to buy Yoga for Warriors – from amazon, from Give Back Yoga Foundation, or on this site (don’t know how to put in links yet – argh!) For everyone you buy, we donate one to a veteran. My goal is 100,000 veterans. The military does YOGA – who would have believed this 25 years ago????
